Plastic Prototypes

EDS-Toolworks CNC vertical machining centers are programmed to machine a myriad of materials utilizing cutting tools specific for the material to be machined. Computer generated solid models allow for SLA outsourcing or our machining of rapid plastic tools. SLA's are best suited for fit evaluation of pressed pulp designs. Plastic tools allow us to pull samples for thin and thick gauge thermoforms. Pulling samples from plastic tools allows for plastic flow analysis of thermoformed processing. Trimmed samples can be produced from one up dies, water jet cutting, or CNC five axis machining depending upon finished part expectations. EPS parts are directly machined from EPS blocks of the specified density. EPS and thermoformed parts are suitable for ISTA / ASTM specified package drop tests.
